Battery Swapping for Electric Vehicles
SWAP is an Indonesia’s first replaceable battery service for electric motorcycles. Instead of recharging their batteries, users simply swap empty batteries with a fully charged one at the nearest SWAP battery outlet, in a matter of seconds.

We worked with the SWAP team to design a mobile app that gives real-time info of battery status, maps SWAP outlets and helps users change their battery if it is already running out.

Product Understanding
Initiating the project with a better understanding of the company’s scope
A China-based company, SWAP wanted to introduce their product and service in Indonesia. We took this as an opportunity to build the app from the ground up. Before jumping into the creation process, it was crucial for us to gather further context of SWAP’s objectives, market, competitors, etc.

We started by analyzing SWAP’s brand and several other EV products in order to have a strong grasp of SWAP’s product mechanism. In addition to the project brief, we understood the product goals and a high-level vision on how the founders wanted the app to look and feel.
Product Goals
1
Monitor
An app that allows users  to check  battery health and overall vehicle condition in real-time.
2
Track & Secure
A way for the users to track the vehicle’s location when it’s parked. Additionally, allow users to lock/unlock the vehicle directly from the app.
3
Find & Book Battery
Allowing users to find the nearest SWAP stations on a map and book an available battery for swapping.
